Graphic Festival 2012

Graphic Festival is back for a third year at the Sydney Opera House, with a weekend of graphic storytelling, animation and music. Included in the program are Gaming Workshops, talks by Pixar, Animal Logic, Peter Bagge, Radio With Pictures storytelling, The Good Game: Roffle Cup played live, plus live performances by Fat Freddy’s Drop and Elefant Traks inspired by Dr Seuss.

Nardwuar vs. Flying Lotus

British Columbia DJ and professional creeper Nardwuar has made a career of his bizarre interviews with musicians, in which he uncovers details of the musical and personal lives they thought were unknown. His latest: Los Angeles DJ/producer Steve Ellison, better known as Flying Lotus. And although the Canadian internet sensation had his work cut out for him , he still managed to catch FlyLo off guard.

Sydney’s Creative Bike Festival

From the team that brought the Bicycle Film Festival to Sydney, The Spokes People are presenting more celebratory bike events this October, as part of City of Sydney’s Sydney Rides Festival. There’s the opening Street Fair of Cycling Goodness with workshops, stalls and performances; a new street race for the lycra-enthusiasts held at Barangaroo; an Instagram bike art exhibition; and the signature event – the Bicycle Film Festival – will this year be held in a unique outdoor venue outside St Mary’s Cathedral.
