Trouble On My Mind

I’ve become a big fan of Tyler, the Creator and the Odd Future crew since ‘Yonkers dropped, so when the video for ’Trouble On My Mind’ showed up on their tumblr last week, I just had to share. I’m not really feeling this video to be honest. I think their message that they’re teengage hooligans has been a tad overdone but of course, they’ve chosen to do the same in this video, adding Pusha T to the mix.

The song, on the other hand, is pretty damn good. Just listen to the lyrics and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re too lazy to do that, I’ve added a little excerpt below. The song is featured on Pusha T’s Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray, which is the debut solo album of Pusha T (one half of the Clipse). The production on the song is done pretty well too, produced by none other than N.E.R.D’s Chad Hugo and Tyler’s hero, Pharrell Williams.

With the re-up’s a helluva buzz
Rick James said cocaine’s a helluva drug
Who else could put the hipsters with felons and thugs
And paint a perfect picture of what sellin’ it does?
This is for the critics, who doubted the chemistry
Two different words, same symmetry
And this black art, see the wizardry
When you at the top of your game, you make enemies
You’ll never finish me
