KRS-One Australian Tour

Australian fans of KRS-One need to listen up: Over the weekend, the hip hope legend announced an Australian tour and we suggest you grab a ticket to this one, because if you’re a fan of the man, you’ll know that a) he doesn’t fly and b) lives in America, so the odds of him ever making it all the way down under to our shores always seemed slim.

But that’s exactly what’s happening! KRS-One is chartering a boat to take him all the way from the US to Australia. Yep, you read right, and if you were wondering how long it takes to sail from The US to Australia, the answer is a month. Given the time it’s going to take KRS to get here, it’s understandable that the tour won’t be kicking off until March. But once he’s ashore, KRS will be hitting up most of the states of our fair country.

KRS-One (whose initials stand for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone) is a pioneer of the US hip-hop scene; incorporating rap, reggae, spoken word and even classical influences into his music. But since the 1980s, KRS has been much more than just a musician: he’s also worked with the UN, lectured at over 500 US universities and published three books, all in service of his passionately-held views on anti-violence and spiritual exploration. Yep, he’s pretty cool.

This tour is one that has been labelled “unmissable” by many, seeing as this is the first and surely the last time KRS-One will ever grace our shores, so make sure you purchase your ticket to it.

Tickets go on sale nationally on Thursday January 19.

KRS-One tour dates:
Friday March 9th – The Arena, Brisbane
Wednesday March 14th – The Palace, Melbourne
