Occupy Protestor

Shepard Fairey continues to show his support of the Occupy Wall Street movement by releasing a new print. Based on a photo by Ted Soqui, the “Occupy Protestor” print is limited to 450 copies, and was signed and numbered by both Fairey and the woman depicted in the print, Sarah Mason.

For those who don’t know, Mason was among 20 Occupy L.A. protesters who linked arms in a circle around a pop-up encampment at the center of Bank of America Plaza on November 17 last year. Mason, a Highland resident who works at a Santa Monica art gallery, was arrested at sundown, as was the rest of the elbow-linked chain. The bandana she wore was reportedly soaked in vinegar, “just in case the police sprayed them with gas or pepper spray.”

The print will retail for $60 starting this Thursday through Obey’s online store with all proceeds going to Occupy Wall Street. Check out the original Ted Soqui photograph of Sarah Mason below in which she posed, gracing the cover of last year’s TIME magazine.
