Judging from the title, this is not what you’d expect from a restaurant in Yarra Valley (Victoria, AUSTRALIA). Located in the small town of Healesville just 1 hour away from Melbourne, this diamond in the rough not only makes their own brand of wine (Innocent Bystander) but also creates their own food from scratch! Relatively classy but not too much to stray the common tourist away, they offer AMAZING food and even better wine. Perfect for either lunch or dinner, the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating for you to rug up or enjoy the sun while you just sit back and relax.
Now that the long weekend has past, it’s time to start planning a new one with the next one just less than 2 months away! Take a road trip (or even fly to Melbourne then drive) down to this exquisite quaint town to try some of the most famous food and wine. If you have the time, book a tour with Manu (the manager) and she’ll take you through the various modernised steps of creating wine. Remember to ask her lots of questions – she likes it and she knows her stuff.
Kez’s is an Australian company that is responsible for making some great biscuits. I’m a strong advocate of the Kez’s Free line, which is gluten and dairy free. I’ve recently indulged in the melting moments and the almond toffee biscuits, and they were fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the melting moments as it’s quite rare to come across gluten free shortbread-style biscuits that measure up to what I remember about the taste and texture of real shortbread.
New York City is one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the world and the legacy that the city has contributed to street culture remains indisputable. Once again we have two different covers for the issue, the general release cover feature the photography of Brooklyn snapper Marley-Kate (her work also features in a 10-page spread inside), the short-run cover features a portrait of iconic New York artist Futura, as shot by his son 13th Witness. Futura will also be a key-note speaker at our up-coming Carbon event taking place at the end of this month in Melbourne. (More info and tickets here). Greg Rivera of Mishka and Noah Callahan-Bever of Complex magazine will also be speaking at the event and are also included in this issue.
